YOUR ROLE

Under the responsibility of the Reception Attendants Supervisor, the Visitor Reception Attendant will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Welcome visitors with courtesy and professionalism. Provide accurate and comprehensive information about trails, activities, Park regulations, local attractions, and available services.

  • Rotate the colored tickets each operating day by 8:00 AM. Remove the coupons deposited the previous day and hand them over to the supervisor. (Note: Since all transactions are done online, no cash handling or reconciliation is performed).

  • Ensure proper parking management. Ensure optimal and safe alignment of cars while maintaining a sufficient traffic lane. Set up the necessary cones, barriers, and signage, such as sandwich boards. Manage intermittent parking closures when necessary.

  • Validate parking and trail access passes.

  • Participate in the light maintenance of the reception areas (cleanliness, signage) and their preparation for opening and closing.

  • Respond to inquiries.

  • Inform users about the current regulations and code of ethics.

YOUR PROFILE

Category Requirement
Languages
  • Essential bilingualism (French and English), spoken, to interact effectively with all visitors.
Experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in customer service, reception, or a similar role.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Key Skills
  • Customer service-oriented approach and exceptional courtesy.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to handle specific situations calmly and professionally.
  • Knowledge of Gatineau Park and its attractions is a major asset.
Obligations
  • Hold the required NCC (National Capital Commission) security clearance.
  • Complete an annual customer service training offered by the NCC.
Specifics
  • Ability to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions, including weekends and statutory holidays.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Position Type: Seasonal / Part-time

  • Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, and certain days to cover the holiday season as well as the Quebec and Ontario spring breaks.

  • Workplace: Various reception and access points in Gatineau Park

  • Compensation: Between $17 and $19 per hour.

  • Start Date: December 5, 2026
